Rochester Red Wings drop series finale to Toledo Mud Hens

The Rochester Red Wings four-game win streak came to an end on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 loss to the Toledo Mud Hens in the series finale at Fifth Third Field.

Toledo broke the scoreless tie in the fifth after Brady Policelli hammered one over the left-field wall to put the Mud Hens on top, 1-0.

Joey Meneses put Rochester on the board in the eighth and tied the game with a RBI double to left.

The Mud Hens walked it off in the ninth after Josh Lester crushed a solo home run to left-center.


Jackson Tetreault made his second start of the season for the Red Wings and allowed just one run on three hits over five innings while walking three and striking out five.

Erasmo Ramirez and Francisco Perez each tossed a scoreless inning in relief for Rochester. Reed Garrett allowed the walk-off home run.

Meneses and Jake Noll each had two-hit games.

Rochester gets the day off Monday before they begin a six-game homestand on Tuesday against the Buffalo Bisons. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
