Hobart snaps five-game skid with win over Wagner

The Hobart Statesmen (3-5, 1-3 NEC) snapped a five-game skid with a 12-3 victory over the Wagner Seahawks (3-6, 1-3 NEC) on Saturday afternoon at Boswell Field.

Hobart outscored Wagner 8-3 in the first half and 4-0 in the second to secure the win.

Kevin Holtby made nine saves and did not allow a goal in the second half.

Three Statesmen recorded hat tricks. Ryan Archer, Derrek Madonna and Anthony Dattellas each finished with three goals and an assist. Tommy Mott added three points on a goal and two assists while John Herlihy scored twice.


Hobart dominated the faceoff X, winning 12-of-17. Adam Shea went 10-5 and corralled a game-high six ground balls. Jake Shaifer also won two faceoffs.

Nick Martini, Stephen Dwyer and Jack Brady netted goals for Wagner.

Danny Brady made 23 saves in the loss.

Hobart will be back in action next Saturday when they take on Merrimack at 3 p.m.
