Schnell, CPA/ABV, CVA has been named to the New York State Board of Accountancy. In his new role, Schnell will advise and assist the Board of Regents and the State Education Department on matters of professional regulation as it pertains to accounting and business practices.
As partner in Mengel Metzger Barr & Co’s Tax Department, Schnell has more than 25 years of tax and accounting specialization. With previous experience at both national and regional firms, Schnell has a variety of expertise, including business and tax planning strategies, and he now serves as chair for our firm’s tax and business valuation committees. A certified valuation analyst and accredited in business valuation, Schnell performs business valuation and related services for a variety of purposes. He is also very active in the community and has served as a board member for McQuaid Jesuit High School, St. Louis Church, Catholic Courier, the Southeast branch of the YMCA, National Kidney Foundation and a member of the National Eagle Scout Association, Turnaround Management Association of Upstate NY, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and NYS Society of CPAs.
