How can I avoid my tax return getting rejected?

Returns filed electronically for the 2021 tax year require all necessary forms and documentation in order for the return to be processed.  In years previous, the IRS would not reject electronic submissions missing Form 8962, but that’s not the case anymore. Click here for more information.

If you were required to file Form 8962 this year but didn’t, the IRS provided steps to amend the return and still file on time.

The quicker you fix the error, the more likely you are to avoid delays. Filing via paper copy and forgetting the form could lead to more days required to process.

The deadline to file for the 2021 tax year is April 18.
