Pizza Aroma in Ithaca forced to relocate after 25 years

Ithaca business Pizza Aroma has been at its North Cayuga Street location for 25 years, but now it must find a new space to call home.

In an Instagram post, the pizza shop explained that its been forced to relocate. The notice comes after City of Ithaca received a complaint in July 2021 regarding the 128 N. Cayuga St. building’s bowing brick exterior, according to Ithaca Voice.

As stated in the post, the shop received notice in September 2022 that the “building was going to be condemned unless the necessary work was done.” They said that up until this week, landlords Doris Nitsios and Renee Ryan gave “no communication or updates” on when exterior construction efforts would end.

Pizza Aroma said it has three months to vacate the property. The news comes after owner Mauricio Rosa spent months renovating the business’ interior.
