U.S. Rep. Katko secures $9M for projects in CNY, Cayuga and Wayne counties

U.S. Representative John Katko has secured $9 million in funding for ten projects across New York’s 24th congressional district.

Cayuga County is set to receive some of that funding for three projects: $500,000 for a Great Lakes study through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, $160,000 for maintenance projects at the Wells College water plant in the village of Aurora, and $75,000 for a Cayuga County emergency operations center, according to The Citizen.

Additionally, $180,000 in funding will go towards buying defibrillators for Newark-Wayne Hospital in the town of Newark, Wayne County.

“This funding bill represents a monumental step forward for our region,” said Rep. Katko. “I am proud to have secured nearly $9 million in funding for transformational projects that will help improve the quality of life throughout Central New York.”
