Troopers say drunk driver crashed into Steuben County house

State police made one arrest in Steuben County after a vehicle crashed into a house.

According to a news release, on March 4 troopers were dispatched to North Main Street Extension in Hornellsville for the report of a car into a house.

Upon arrival, officers interviewed the homeowner who stated that the vehicle left the road and struck his camper, boat, wooden wagon, and came to rest against the home.

Troopers interviewed the driver, identified as Matthew Campbell, who said he attempted to pass a car when a deer entered the road. He swerved to miss the deer, and went off the road.

Troopers administered a field sobriety test, and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. Campbell was issued tickets returnable to local court.
