The city of Auburn will celebrate women in brewing beginning Friday night with the first-ever Brave Brews festival.
The event is being held in conjunction with International Women’s Day. It’s being hosted by Prison City Brewing and the Equal Rights Heritage Center. The center’s Visitor Experience Manager, Courtney Kasper says one of the highlights of the event is a visit to Auburn by Celeste Beatty of Harlem Brewing, the first African-American woman to own a brewery in the United States.
There are events Saturday and Sunday, as well. Some of the ticketed events have sold out, but there are a number of free activities, as well. Listen to my full Pintcast conversation with Courtney Kasper and with Dawn Schulz from Prison City below.
