Geneva Public Library’s new Director Pauline Shostack completed her first week on the job last Friday.
The Geneva Public Library Board selected Shostack as director on January 26, 2022 after the position had been left vacant following Chris Finger’s departure in October 2021.
Shostack has almost 20 years of experience in library management under her belt, including two three-year terms as chair of the Library Academic Department at Onondaga Community College. She says she appreciates the efforts the Geneva library board has made to better serve a diverse community, including hiring a Spanish-speaking library clerk.
“I took this job because I’m impressed with what [the board is] doing,” said Shostack, according to Finger Lakes Times. “I hope to bring new ideas and perspectives. I’m really excited to be here. I’m looking forward to getting to know the community.”
