NYSEG customers are feeling the effects of increased utility bill charges, including a family in Marion, who says their most recent bill was nearly $1,000.
“We were shocked,” said Marion resident Jennifer Young, according to News10 NBC. “It’s a lot of money. It’s almost $1,000.”
Young and her family are left wondering how they will pay their latest NYSEG electricity bill. Their last bill was roughly $400, but their latest is $925.19. Young says there was no increase in power usage that could account for the increases charges.
NYSEG Director of Communications Michael Jamison told News10 NBC the high price of natural gas is the cause of the increased payments.
