First-ever Geneva Winter Arts & Film Festival wraps up Saturday

The first-ever Geneva Winter Arts & Film Festival wraps up Saturday with a lantern parade downtown.

Geneva BID Executive Director Michael Mills says it’s based on a parade he had seen in Atlanta.

The parade route runs from Genesee Park on Genesee Street to Lewis Street, then Exchange, and ends at the city’s municipal parking lot on Seneca Street.

The festival has featured restaurant deals downtown, the screening of the films judged best by a panel of judges at the Smith Opera House and an Art Walk through the downtown. The festival is planned to be an annual event, designed to bring people downtown during what can be one of the slower periods of the year.
