Macedon man accused of sexually assaulting 12-year-old in Florida

A Wayne County man faces charges in the state of Florida after a sex assault investigation.

According to deputies, Peter Smith, 64, was arrested in Wayne County by deputies and members of the Marshals Taskforce for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

The assault occurred in Escambia County, Florida, according to deputies.

Smith is awaiting extradition back to Florida where he will face the charges.
