The recovery rebate credit gives people the chance to receive their economic impact payment that they may not have been given the first time around.
It can be claimed as a credit on your 2022 tax return.
If you missed the full payment but qualified, you can claim the full amount of $1,400.

You’ll need to show the IRS what money you were supposed to be sent in order to claim it.
Parents who birthed, adopted, or fostered a child in 2021 that the IRS was unaware of are eligible to receive up to $1,400.
If a parent added a new dependent to their return, like a parent or other family member, may claim a check.
If your income changed or went down, making it so you actually qualified but the IRS used old income information, you can claim it.

The IRS started accepting returns on Jan. 24, 2022.
The deadline to file your taxes is April 18, 2022.
Your W-2s should have been sent by your employer no later than Jan. 31, 2022.
