Family escapes injury after Junius house fire

On Monday around 3 p.m. deputies and firefighters responded to Whiskey Hill Road for the report of a structure fire.

The homeowner, identified as MaryBeth Ennist, and her three children, were able to safely exit without being injured.

They exited when they saw smoke coming from their bathroom.

Deputies say towels close to a heater caused the fire.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by firefighters from Junius, Border City, Waterloo, Fayette, as well as Seneca County Code Enforcement.
