Troopers: Drunk driver caused one-car crash in Steuben County

A Steuben County man faces drunk driving charges after a one-car crash over the weekend.

According to a news release, troopers were called to a single-car crash on County Road 1 in the town of Thurston.

The call came in a little before 11 p.m. and the operator, identified as Troy Robbins-Keefer, 24, of Savona was found to be intoxicated.

Troopers say Robbins-Keefer submitted to field sobriety tests after an interview with responding officers. He failed those tests.

A breath test and verbal confirmation corroborated his intoxication. He was charged with DWI and will appear in local court at a later date to answer the charge.

No injuries were reported by troopers.
