Cornell comeback falls short in loss to Princeton

The Cornell men’s hockey team scored three goals in the final three minutes, but it wasn’t enough as they fell 5-4 to Princeton on Friday night at Lynah Rink.

Goaltender Ian Shane stopped 18-of-23 shots and suffered his first collegiate loss. Jeremie Forget turned aside 23-of-27 shots for Princeton.

Cornell went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Princeton went 0-for-2.

Kyle Penney, Jack Malone, Mitchell Travis and Ben Benard each found the back of the net for Cornell.

Joe Berg, Adam Robbins, Spencer Kersten (2) and Ian Murphy were the goal scorers for Princeton.

Cornell looks to bounce back Saturday night when they host top-ranked Quinnipiac at 7 p.m.
