This leads many to believe that the retailer will be selling virtual goods like electronics, home decor, toys, and other goods.
T U.S. Patent and Trademark Office received 7 applications total.
Experts believe these moves are so Walmart can be part of the growing Metaverse, which is a digital world that combines digital technology.
In Oct., Walmart began letting shoppers pay for groceries and items using the Bitcoin at their Coinstar kiosks in select stores.
The pilot program used 200 kiosks throughout the country.
The form of payment may soon be accepted widely at all Walmart locations..
