Congressman John Katko has tested positive for COVID-19.
The 24th District Republican said in a statement Monday he is vaccinated and has received a booster shot. He says he is experiencing only mild symptoms. Katko says he will cast his votes by proxy and will work from home while he recovers. He says his staff is available to help constituents with anything they need.
At least two other House members, New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Virginia Republican Ben Cline, have tested positive as Congress returns this week from its winter recess.
