Newark receives money for culvert replacement from Bridge NY

The village of Newark is getting $982,000 under the Bridge NY program to replace a culvert on West Miller St.

The existing twin barrel culvert will be replaced with a new concrete box culvert with greater hydraulic capacity making the Village infrastructure more resilient.  The Village of Newark would like to thank Governor Kathy Hochul for her commitment to improving the safety, resiliency and reliability of critical municipally owned infrastructure. The engineering design will commence in early 2022 with construction anticipated to begin in July of 2023.

Mayor Jonathan Taylor stated, “The Village is looking forward to completing the work on this critical project. We are thrilled to have the State’s resources to assist us in protecting this vital stream and ensuring our infrastructure remains operational in the village and beyond.”
