A manufacturer of building materials made of wood is opening a $24 million facility in Bath.
The Steuben County Industrial Development Agency says LP Corp will hire over 60 people to work at its 75 acre plant in the IDA’s industrial park off Route 54. The company will receive home siding products from its manufacturing site by rail, then paint them and distribute them to retail customers throughout the northeast. LP will receive a million dollars through the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit Program for creating the new jobs. NYSEG, the IDA and B & H Railroad will also help bring the project to fruition.
LP’s Executive Vice President for Siding, Neil Sherman said “we are excited to build a prefinishing facility in the Town of Bath to help us meet strong customer demand for our product. Strategically located near our customers in the Northeastern U.S., we were thrilled to find Steuben County and its highly skilled workforce.”
The new facility is expected to open in 2023.
