New York State Police received a suspicious person complaint on Sunday around 11:58 p.m. on Hayride Drive in Farmington.
According to troopers, they located Richard Brink, a Farmington resident, going through vehicles in the area.
He ignored several commands from responding troopers, and led them on a foot chase.
He was taken into custody and charged with petit larceny, resisting arrest, obstruction, and false personation.
The charges will be answered at a later date in town court.
