Holiday shopping sales over the Black Friday weekend were a success. According to MasterCard, Black Friday sales were up 10% online over 2020.
That surprised many experts, since so many Americans had to shop online last year. Many stores and businesses were ether closed or limiting capacity as COVID-19 surged.
This year in-store sales took a gigantic leap, too.
MasterCard says in-store sales were up 43% over 2020. An analyst for the company said the increase in both online and in-store shopping during Black Friday would indicate a huge holiday shopping spend overall.
Cyber Monday is playing out now, which is typically one of the biggest holiday shopping days of the year.
