500,000 Americans can expect payments worth $285 on Monday, are you one of them?

A one time check is being sent to Americans worth $285 beginning Monday.

Those getting that check are residents in the state of Maine.

This comes from a budget deal that aims to support those that worked through the pandemic in 2020.

524,754 residents of the state are getting a disaster relief payment of $285 as a thank you for working.

The Disaster Relief Payment Program allowed the State Tax Assessor access to find the individuals entitled to the payments before settling on the amount to send them not exceeding $300.

After finding how many residents qualified, the tax assessor then divided the $149.8 million set aside between the 524,754 residents.
