Checks for parents expecting the latest installment of the child tax credits can expect them to start going out Monday.
People getting checks by direct deposit have seen the checks go into their bank accounts on the morning of the day its due, like Oct. 15 last month.
Those getting live checks can expect them to be sent on Monday.
Really, parents may spend the money however they feel necessary.
How much will my child tax credit be next week?
Altogether the IRS is giving a tax break of $3,600 this year for children up to age 6. After that children up to 17 are given a $3,000 tax break.
Starting in July, checks went out once a month in the amount of $250 for children ages 6-17 and $300 for children under age 6. Altogether parents are getting the first half of their $3,000-$3,600 tax credit. The rest will be given during 2022 tax season.
