A letter was sent by Governor Greg Abbott in Texas to the Texas Association of School Boards Executive Director Dan Troxell.
The letter urges Troxell to ensure children are protected from being exposed to pornography while in any Texas public school.
His letter states that parents are becoming alarmed about books and content within school libraries, calling them inappropriate and claiming pornographic images are available to students.
Abbott sided with parents saying they are rightfully angry.
He explains that library content is reviewed at the district level, unlike textbooks and classroom material which are decided on by the Texas State Board of Education.
