The deadline passed for non-filers to use the IRS child tax credit tool on Oct. 15.
This does not mean you can’t still sign up.
The White House, U.S. Treasury, and Code for America have joined forces to create another tool for families that did not file taxes in 2019 or 2020.
The site is called GetCTC.org.
To use the took you’ll need your social security number or an individual taxpayer ID number. The website also allows for those who did not get the three stimulus checks that were eligible to claim them.
The deadline for this tool in Nov. 15, so there’s only two weeks left to use it.
If you haven’t been claiming and are just now doing it with the new tool, it’s possible to collect up to $1,800 per child for the missed payments in one lump sum this December.
