Proof needed? Nope, Canadian travelers won’t need to show COVID vaccine card to border agents

What will the rules be when the border between the U.S. and Canada reopens?

The Department of Homeland Security has provided new guidance ahead of the scheduled reopening, which takes place November 8.

Vaccinated travelers entering by land will not be required to produce a negative COVID test. Visitors crossing for non-essential purposes will be required to be vaccinated and provide verbal confirmation that they have received the vaccination.

That means border patrol agents will likely not be checking vaccine cards.

The business community across Upstate New York has expressed dire interest in getting the border reopened as many struggle that relied on Canadian traffic.
