Geneva Middle School Principal John DeFazio is on leave. The Geneva City School District did not disclose the reason for that leave, but it’s the second administrator to be absent from day-to-day operations.
Acting Superintendent Kathy Davis, who is filling in during Patricia Garcia’s administrative leave, informed parents of the change at the middle school in an announcement.
For now, Tricia Budgar, the district’s director of strategic initiatives and athletics is filling in for DeFazio.
“I am sure that your students will be in good hands with Mrs. Budgar and Mr. Heath, and I thank you in advance for supporting them,” Davis said in the note to parents. Matt Heath is the middle school’s assistant principal.
DeFazio joined the school district in July after leaving the Rochester City School District, where he was for eight years.
