Some states are participating in hazard payments as part of COVID-19 relief payments.
One of these states is Maine. Those who qualify will get these checks beginning Nov. 1. 100,000 checks will be sent each week for about a month.
These are Disaster Relief Payments meant to offset hardships created from the pandemic.
Many states have tried to find ways to give back to their residents who have suffered the most in place of a fourth stimulus check.
To qualify, you must be a Maine resident and make under $75,000 per year single of $150,000 jointly.
A state tax return needs to be filed by Oct. 31 to get the payment.
