Parents check kids Halloween candy; there could be THC edibles that look like children’s snacks

Marijuana products are becoming legal across the state and that means edibles are as well.

Many edibles are packaged to look like regular snacks that kids may get on Halloween, so parents need to be extra diligent when checking their kids candy this year.

The New York State Attorney General’s Office shared pictures of snacks with THC that are made to look similar to regular kids snacks like Oreos or Sour Patch Kids.

The bags will have a little THC branding in the bottom corner of the bag.

If children accidentally ingest these snacks there is a potential for overdose in high quantities. Please contact poison control at 1-800-222-1222.
