75-year-old charged with aggravated DWI after two-car crash in Manchester

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 75-year-old Manchester man following a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 96 and Route 21.

Deputies say Saxon Gavitt, 75, of Manchester struck an SUV operated by a 63-year-old woman, then went off the road striking a utility pole.

Deputies charged Gavitt with DWI and aggravated DWI for having a BAC over 0.18% at the time of the crash.

He was issued citations and will appear in local court at a later date to answer the charges.

No injuries were reported.
