The Auburn IDA has given the green light to a Colorado-based company that wants to grow marijuana in the city.
Terrapin, a Colorado-based company, will purchase a 12-acre lot in the city’s technology park. A facility will be built there.
The company tells city officials that they will grow marijuana indoors, and that a charcoal filtration system will be used to make the odor undetectable outside the facility.
Terrapin has been leading research and development of those charcoal filtration systems.
The development is the region’s first major step toward cannabis-based businesses since New York State legalized recreational marijuana.
Where is recreational marijuana legal? Cannabis sales start soon, but is it happening already?
