CDC finds cause of large salmonella outbreak across multiple states; the source was in Colorado

The CDC has been working hard to identify the source of a salmonella outbreak in Colorado and other states and have finally found the cause.

102 poisoned individuals have been identified and the number is expected to grow.

All ate Northeast Seafood Products in Colorado, some returning to their home states after they at before they became sick.


There are 82 victims in Colorado, 1 in Arizona, 1 in Connecticut, 1 in Iowa, 2 in Minnesota, 1 in Montana, 2 in Nebraska, 2 in New Jersey, 1 in Pennsylvania, 2 in Texas, 2 in Virginia, 2 in Washington, 2 in Wisconsin, and 2 in Wyoming.

The CDC also tested the products in the state of Colorado, finding salmonella.

There have been at least 19 hospitalizations from this outbreak.

Salmonella poses a risk for lifelong issues like irritable bowel syndrome.
