Mary Beer told 13 WHAM News that the technology being provided to schools is for rapid PCR testing, which can normally take up to two days to receive results.
This way, students showing symptoms can be tested and if they are negative, remain in school instead of being sent home as a precaution.
PCR testing is one of the most reliable forms of testing.
