Ithaca Police Department reports shooting for the second night in a row

Ithaca Police Department responded to another shooting for the second night in a row in the area of Chestnut and Elm Streets.

On Oct. 6 at 10:24 p.m., police responded to reports of another shooting and found numerous shell casings from a handgun.

One resident reported that several bullets struck their home, with one entering the bedroom.




A vehicle was also shot several times as the driver passed through the area.

The investigation is ongoing and police ask that anyone who witnessed or may have surveillance footage of the incident to contact the Ithaca Police Investigative Division.

There are no known injuries at this point in the investigation.
