Police respond to shots fired in Ithaca Tuesday night

Ithaca Police Department responded to shots fired Tuesday night near Elm Street.

Around 8:12 p.m. police responded to multiple reports of gunshots in the area.

Police secured the area and interviewed witnesses before learning a victim with a gunshot wound had been taken to a nearby hospital.




The victim was taken to a regional trauma center.

The investigation is ongoing and police ask that anyone with any information call the Ithaca Police Investigative Division.

They are looking for any surveillance footage in the area and people can remain anonymous.
