Kroger reaches agreement for new contract with employee union

A new contract for over 1200 Kroger employees was approved with a 55% vote.

10 Upper Ohio Valley locations belonging to UFCW Local 1776 will see the new contract going into effect soon.

The deal includes an increase in wages, one of the biggest issues while negotiating.

Employees want higher wages for continuing to work during a pandemic as well as the inflation happening throughout the country.

The same medical benefits are being offered with no increased costs, and if costs increase Kroger will pay the difference in price through the end of the contract.

More money will be added into the pension fund as well for added security.
