DOT hiring snow plow drivers for winter: Cold, snowy season predicted

Winter is coming.

Last week the Farmer’s Almanac predicted a cold, snowy winter across much of the northeast, which means big business for the state of New York and other entities responsible for keeping roads and driveways clear.

The calendar says October, but soon enough snow will be falling across much of the northeast and the state Department of Transportation is hiring.

There are countless openings across New York with the state Department of Transportation for snow plow drivers. The requirement? A Commercial Driver’s License, or CDL.

There’s even a training program for those who don’t have a CDL to obtain one.

Click here to check out the openings and learn more about the positions.
