COVID-19 pill could cure pandemic and give people normal lives again according to experts

Trials for a pill that would eliminate COVID-19 symptoms in an infected person are currently happening.

The pill is an oral antiviral treatment and would work similarly to Tamiflu, which works to stop symptoms from developing and slow the spread of the virus.

Dr. Elizabeth Duke, a Fred Hutch research associate overseeing a trial for one COVID-19 pill, says completing the study has been difficult because patients need to be unvaccinated and most people say no to the trial.

Many companies are trying to get in the action with creating these pills, including Pfizer.

Oravax is another company working on an oral pill that would vaccinate individuals from COVID-19.
