Fayette Town Board must re-vote on banning marijuana retail sales and on-site use

Town of Fayette Attorney Stephen Ricci has announced the passing of the local law to ban the sale and on-site use of marijuana is invalid.

At the Sept. 9 Town Board meeting the law was passed with 2-1 votes.

Legally, to pass the law there needs to be three votes.

There were only three of five board members present who voted and the only way for it to pass would have been with a 3-0 vote.

There will be a special meeting Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. to reconsider the vote.
