FDA votes against allowing Pfizer booster shots for the general public

The FDA had a meeting Friday regarding the emergency use authorization of a booster shot for Pfizer, and voted against it.

The first vote that was against it was to allow the booster for anyone over the age of 16, but a second vote approved it for those ages 65 and older.

There was not enough data surrounding the safety from Pfizer for the FDA to make an informed decision.

Many were surprised at the vote, fully expecting an approval.
