Victims names have been released by police that were involved in a fuel tank crash outside Syracuse

The two individuals killed when they hit a fuel tank in Mattydale on Wednesday have been identified by police.

The victims were Matthew Kneer and Christine Olmstead, both age 50.

The van was traveling west when it went off the road to the right and went through a fence around the Syracuse Hancock Airport.

The van then struck a fuel tank.

An employee for Signature Air found the vehicle and immediately called for emergency services.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
