The Rochester man who died of a gunshot wound during a struggle with police on Wednesday was wanted for assault in Wayne County.
U.S. Marshal’s Task Force members attempted to arrest Dedrick James, 24, when he pulled out a handgun before struggling physically with members of the task force.
One round was fired from his gun which struck his upper body and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
