Pfizer vaccine may be administered in children ages 5 to 11 if approval is granted

Within the next few weeks, BioNTech will be requesting approval to administer its COVID-19 vaccine in children as young as 5 years old.

Their plan is to file its regulatory report for their Pfizer vaccine this month for 5 to 11-year-olds.

They also hope to get approval for children ages 6 months to two years old in the coming months.

While New York has yet to create this type of requirement, the Los Angeles board of education now requires children 12 and older to get the vaccine if they want to attend school in person.
