Americans collecting unemployment dropped last week to only 310,000.
This is the lowest it’s been the entire pandemic and shows that the Delta Variant isn’t having as hard of an impact as originally expected on the workforce.
Before the pandemic the numbers were around 225,000.
Though the workforce appears to be recovering, the economy still struggles as families opt to dine in and avoid travel as Delta spreads.
The unemployment numbers dropping are showing that companies are retaining employees.
Hiring also remains an issue as people are avoiding face to face contact positions and seeking out other options.
The data has not shown yet whether the millions of Americans losing additional aid has had an effect, but preliminary data showed that states choosing to end benefits early didn’t see as drastic of an increase in job searches as they hoped for.
