Yates Community Endowment awarded 29 organizations this year

29 grants have been awarded on behalf of the Yates Community Endowment in the last year.

$140,692 in total has been given out.

$95,492 of that money was given out from the Yates Emergency Relief Fund for local needs during the pandemic.


The emergency fund was created in May of 2020 and for the first year addressed basic needs. This year it focused on community needs.

The following non-profit organizations received grants in these amounts:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester, $5,700

Family Counseling Service of the Finger Lakes, $3,000

Hope Center Keuka Food Pantry, $7,500

Humane Society of Yates County, $1,500

Mercy Flight Central, $5,000

Penn Yan Theatre Company, $7,500


Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes, $5,000

Yates Cultural & Recreational Resources Inc., $5,000

YMCA of Greater Rochester Camp Cory Scholarships, $5,000

Arts Center of Yates County, $5,000.

Bishop Sheen Ecumenical Housing Foundation Inc., $5,000.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Yates County, $8,000 (2).

Dundee Central School, $7,000.


Dundee Children’s Center, $5,000.

EZ Kids Creativity Shell, $2,500.

Finger Lakes Cultural and Natural History Museum, $5,000.

Legal Assistance of Western New York, $3,000.

Mozaic (formerly Arc of Yates/Seneca/Cayuga), $5,000.

Our Town Rocks, $5,000.


Penn Yan Central School District Family Support Services, $5,000.

Pennsylvania Yankee Theatre Company, $5,000.

Pro Action of Steuben and Yates Inc., $8,000 (2).

Rochester Folk Art Guild, $10,000 (2).

Yates County History Center, $5,000.

YMCA of Greater Rochester, $11,992 (2).
