Rochester addiction support center says not enough is being done to combat high numbers of overdose deaths

A local addiction support center in Monroe County is saying there needs to be more resources for opioid abuse as overdoses increase.

Last year the record high was 238 deaths from overdose.

The county is working to diminish those numbers, and the Gates to Recovery center in Webster says while that’s great, there needs to be more.

The county has an Improving Addiction Coordination Team that’s responded to over 220 calls for help this year.
