Hochul leaves out marijuana and environment leading people to think she may not address it, local leaders say that’s not the case

Following Kathy Hochul’s first address, some New Yorker’s showed frustration that she never mentioned the environment, sports betting, or marijuana use.

Leaders that know her say just because she did not bring these topics up does not mean she doesn’t care about them or won’t address them in the future.

Julie Tighe, the President of the New York League of Conservation Voters, said the green energy is incredibly important to Hochul, and she plans to build on what Cuomo started.

Senator Jeremy Cooney, an advocate for recreational marijuana use said Cuomo signed the law but other than that things are sitting in limbo for now. He believes Hochul will get the ball rolling in time.
