Vendors are finding themselves cutting hours and employees at their booths at the New York State Fair following low attendance

The turnout this year for the New York State Fair has been much lower than originally anticipated.

The Fair opened Friday, and between Friday and Monday over the weekend, only 150,000 were in attendance.

Vendors had much higher projections for revenue with the Fair opening for first time in two years for the longest ever number of days.

Oh My Darling made their debut at the Fair this year and due to the lower numbers, have had to eliminate ten positions from the booth. The decision on who to keep came down to which employees were completely dependent on the income.

Wade Foods is helping eliminate hours by workers taking more frequent breaks.

Other vendors aren’t necessarily feeling the same struggle, with Otter Creek Winery finding themselves needing to add workers daily.
