A bill has been introduced this week that would require the retention of all documents from the governor’s office.
The proposal would require the documentation of all written and electronic records including emails.
The documents would need to be retained for two years, or five if they might be part of litigation.
Republican state Sen. Daphne Jordan made a statement suggesting that Governor Cuomo could have spent the two weeks he gave himself in office before he leaves destroying records that could be used against him.
Cuomo and his staff went around email retention by using a PIN to PIN Blackberry messaging system.
